Bits & Pieces
The Salem Presbytery website seeks to post information affecting its
constituent churches; however, the posting of such events does not indicate that
the Presbytery does or does not endorse the event. We do not post
editorial submissions from our churches though we do provide links to their
websites and other appropriate websites when available.

Board of Pensions Creates New Member Advocate Position
The Board of Pensions of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) has created a new
member advocate position under the Medical Plan, effective April 1, 2008. The
Board of Pensions recognizes that navigating the complexities of third-party
providers, especially those for healthcare, can be a daunting experience for
members of the Benefits Plan. With this new position, the Board will help Plan
members through difficult situations arising out of administration of the
Medical Plan. The new member advocate position will be filled by Ms.
Annette Donald, who has many years of service with the Board of Pensions and is
knowledgeable about the Benefits Plan and its relevant administrative processes.
In her new role, Ms. Donald will help members understand the process for
obtaining needed care, assist in communicating with third-party providers (e.g.,
Highmark, Express Scripts, and CareAllies) and other Board staff, and help to
resolve any bureaucratic issues that might arise. For additional
information, please visit www.pensions.org.

to pay for them. We want to reduce, reuse, recycle - thus our search for used
glasses versus new ones. Help us be better stewards, and let us give you more
cupboard space! Call or email Mary Beth Stanley at 336-940-5900 or
dstanley@yadtel.net.
