Salem Presbytery Office Building Closure Status

March 17, 2008

The Presbytery staff continues to be guests of the Clemmons Presbyterian Church while awaiting the repairs to be completed on the Presbytery office. The mold-killing agent has been applied to the affected areas. The sheetrock will be replaced and repainted. Afterwards the carpet in the affected areas will be steam cleaned, and 48 hours later several air samples will be conducted in the building to give us a baseline level as to our air quality. If those tests indicate a safe atmosphere, then all of the carpet in the building will be steam cleaned and the heating and ventilation ducts will be cleaned of dust and sterilized. An ultraviolet lamp system will be installed in the heating/air conditioning air handlers to eliminate bacteria/mold/airborne particles from henceforth. After this is completed, another air sample test will be conducted in several of the rooms to indicate the air is safe and no other significant mold spores exist within the building. Then comes moving day! We’d be glad to have volunteer help to move some of our furniture around. My appreciation goes out to the staff for the hardships they have endured as they have continued to do their job in a professional and caring way. We appreciate your prayers and look forward to a safe and healthy return. – Sam Marshall
